The story behind it
A chess coach writes the same kind of sentence all day: which piece, on which square, does what, to whom. Leave a word out and the sentence is wrong. This game checks your sentence against the board itself — it must be true, and it must be complete.
How to play
- Look at the glowing white piece.
- Tap tiles to build one sentence about what it attacks.
- Press Check. If it attacks two pieces, name both.

What it teaches
Building an accurate sentence: subject, verb, object — and nothing missing.
The story to tell first
A chess coach writes the same kind of sentence all day: which piece, on which square, does what, to whom. Leave a word out and the sentence is wrong. This game checks your sentence against the board itself — it must be true, and it must be complete.
Three questions to ask
- Your sentence was true but Ashta wanted more. What was missing?
- Why did you need to add the square on the last level?
- Can you say it in fewer tiles and still be exact?
Without a screen
Show a picture. Pupils describe one thing in it in eight words or fewer — a partner must be able to point to exactly what they meant.
