A FIDE rating is a precision instrument — but it only measures a slice of your chess life. The 13-year-old who plays a tournament every weekend, the club player who joins 30 weekend rapids a year, the school champion who fights through district qualifiers — almost none of those games show up on a FIDE rating card.
NCR exists for exactly this gap. The same Article 8 formula FIDE uses internally, applied to a wider game pool: school events, club games, district championships, state rapids, and yes — FIDE events too, when you play them.
One ID. One rating. Every OTB game counted.
Why this matters now
Indian chess is exploding from the bottom up. The next wave isn't coming from the existing FIDE pool; it's coming from the school circuit, the academy circuit, the weekend tournament circuit. Those players deserve a real number that grows with them.
